Happy into the New Year!

I honestly cannot believe that we haven't posted any blogs since Barn Sale week!  Leading up to Barn Sale is always W-i-L-d!  There is so much to be finished- little things- and things that are only in my head.....  that vision always has to be transposed to the amazing Tribe that comes out to make the Barn what it is when you walk in!

We at Rusted Gingham are forever grateful to our family and friends who make the Barn Sale what it is, to our vendors who come and set up amazing displays- the sale wouldn't be a sale without vendors, and to the shoppers who make this the best experience for us all!!!!

We are moving into 2018 Happy and Grateful!

Thank you for being on this journey with us, for encouraging us, for praying for us, for surrounding us with helping hands and gracious smiles!  The 10th Annual was wonderful- and we are already looking forward to the 11th!

Thank you for allowing us to continue this junk'n journey- and for being on it with us!  The tribe that surrounds it is Amazing and the Barn Sale would not be what it is without that group of people! Cheers to friendships that are orchestrated by our God and may he continue to bless them!

THiS week! The TeNTH annual Barn Sale is THIS week! We are still working and cutting and coordinating--oh, my! These last few weeks and days before Barn Sale are always a bit hectic, but it is SOOOO worth it to see it all come together Friday and Saturday.

Please have exact change at the gate--just $3 for those 13 and up! Parking is free, and your carts are welcome to tote your GoOds! The Run-Down {and a GiVEaWay!}

We are less than 10 days away from the TeNTH annual Barn Sale! 

This little ditty is making its way to 85 papers in the south Texas area--we hope it makes its way to you! When it does, clip the ad, write your name and phone number on it, and drop it in the bucket inside the Rusted Gingham booth at the Barn Sale. We'll draw one winner Friday and one winner Saturday for a half-dozen decorated sugar cookies. (We'll ship them after the Barn Sale.) 

Looking for another treat possibility? Friday evening, head out to the orange truck, snap some photos with our fun signs, post on social media, and show us (in the Rusted Gingham booth) your post. We'll have a little goodie for you--while supplies last! 

Gearing up to make the trek to the Barn Sale? Here are a few things you should know! 

• Plan your full Gonzales visit here. We're a quick trip (about an hour) from San Antonio, Austin, San Marcos, New Braunfels, and the like, but it's worth sticking around to eat, shop, explore our historical sites, and enjoy local lodging--some in beautiful historic homes around town. 
• Please have exact change--three crisp (or wrinkly) one dollar bills will do the trick! A stack of your favorite 12 quarters. A mix of the change you found in your car. Whatever you've got, count it right on out to $3 per adult (13 yrs and up) before coming to the gate, please. 
• Barn is covered but open to breeze (hoping for some cool fall weather); grab your favorite scarf or wrap if you're prone to the chilly side! 
• Each vendor is their own store--have cash, checks, and possibly credit card available (not all vendors accept cards)
• Ain't No Grave is back to fill the Barn with tunes! This God-loving family appreciates tips- love on them!  

• Porters will be available to help carry large furniture to vehicles for tips. You are also more than welcome to bring in your carts to load up with GoOds! 
• Strollers welcome--and cute kids get in FREE!(12 and under)
• We know your furry friends are part of the family, but please no dogs in the Barn, unless they are service animals. 
• Come with smiles ready to shop, mingle and be wowed!!!!

Join us at the Turquoise Table!

Our good friend, Tara, of Royer's Pie Haven is sharing today. We love her heart, her sisterhood, and her pie (which will be in the barn soon)!

From Tara:
Earlier this year I reached out to Kristin Schell about coming to The Gathering at
Round Top at Royers Pie Haven. I hoped she would do a book signing for her new
book, The Turquoise Table. Of course, I had no idea if she would say yes or even
answer. Well, she answered and showed up. She even was a guest speaker and
shared how God had breathed life into her dry bones. Her book, The Turquoise
Table, is a beautiful book about gathering, showing up and loving.

See we don’t have turquoise tables at Royers Pie Haven but we have pie that brings
them to the table; then we have the opportunity to sit and listen. To be still together.
To hear each other’s stories and shine Christ. The table doesn’t have to be
in a fancy place & you don’t even have to bake a pie (PS you can buy one from us,
haha!!). It’s just being intentional to show up and provide a safe place for others to
sit and be heard. To be loved. To bring unity and not division. Put the table in your
front yard, heck at a school or even at work, since we have Royers Pie Haven that
makes it easy for us. A simple cup of coffee, glass of iced tea and some slice & bake
cookies are perfect.

Next week, Nov. 3rd & 4th, we will be selling pies at The Rusted Gingham Barn Sale
in Gonzales; there will be turquoise tables there (well- ones with turquoise covers)!! Y’all can come and gather around the table &eat pie together. Heck y’all can buy a whole one to stick in the
freezer and pull out for the next time you gather around the table.

10th Annual Applications!

When this Barn Sale started I don't remember that I dreamed of it getting to the point that it is.  WoW, Here we are at the 10th Annual!!!

In the beginning my Cattleman had to move hay out of the barn for us to use the Barn for a purpose 'not intended' when it was being built! Although, I did have him leave some for aesthetics!  My goodness- this man of mine has put up with a lot of ideas from me!

 Here are a few throwback pictures to year 1.
Children, do not try this at home...... We were moving small loads in the back of a small trailer attached to a mule.  No- none of our husbands were around for this- just 3 wild and free mommas! Well, not really wild and free- we all 3 had small children at the time! 😅

Speaking of which- this little one has literally grown up amongst the rusty, dusty, chippy, peely things that his Momma loves!

Kids and dirt have been part of the barn sale from the beginning and we don't plan on changing that anytime soon!  God gave us all these precious ones to love- and to raise... So what better place to be raised than in a barn!  And when it comes to the Barn Sale it is one filled with joy, laughter, creativity, and a lot of hard work- a place most of us want our kids!

Something else that has been with us since the beginning.... This beauty......and we plan on having her come show off for us for a Long, Long, Long time!

Why a post with all this nostalgia?  Well, at the beginning of April each year we post applications for hopeful/potential vendors!  As most of you know, you see a lot of the same faces year after year in those fabulous booths.  But occasionally, things do change.  We like to keep a fabulous mix of the best selections for you our shoppers! So, if you or someone you know has ever thought of wanting to create a perfect space in the Barn, now is the time.
