This summer I've been in my mode of 'Putting things up'. Anything from toys, too small clothes, vegetables from our garden, pictures, and most recently, ribbons!
I saw this fun idea on a recent 'junking' trip- At first I think I was most enamored with the globe chandelier! How super cool is it???
Then my eyes swayed to the ribbons dangling above me! My daughter has a pile of ribbons in her room (well- did have a pile) and I thought something similar would be fun! So I asked her what she would think of it- and off we went! Twine, nails, hammer, scissors and a few minutes later we have a dangling display of our own.
We will just add more twine to it over the years-assuming she continues to participate in events that provide ribbons! I hung ours over the twine vs. running the twine through the thread at the top- whatever works!
Last- a trip or two ago to Warrenton I spotted this FABULOUS display of old ribbons in Junk Gypsy's tent.....
I considered buying the quilted ribbons just for the work of art that it was! However- I passed....and took a photo to remind me that we can do that someday with our own as well!
Speaking of Junk Gypsy--- They are gearin' up for Warrenton Antiques Week.... Sept 23rd- Oct 2nd. If you haven't been to their tent by Zapp Hall- do stop in and check out their wares... and tell them the girls from Rusted Gingham sent ya!
Treats!
